Nesting mania continues unabated

That's right folks, Jeremy and I are filled with a fury to get things done.

We've finished the baby shopping! My bag is almost packed! We found a pediatrician! I'm almost done with my plethora of sewing and craft projects (curtains, changing pillow, framed children's book, birdie mobile-- pictures coming soon)! We have a new couch! The co-sleeper bed is assembled! All of the baby laundry is washed and put away! And in non-baby-related land, I've finished (I think) the preliminary research for a talk I will give in Holland at the end of August, and Jeremy has been submitting papers for publication like a madman.

But the weather here is TERRIBLE. Cold, rainy, and windy. I know it is probably better for me than being too hot, but ugh, it's May already.

I'm resting up this morning because I think I might have overdid it a little yesterday running around town, and I need my strength to vacuum/mop the apartment and wash the windows--

Oh, and yesterday I had my first acupuncture appointment. I thought it would be like getting a massage in the movies-- you know, all new age-y music and dim lights and the acupuncturist whispering. Instead, it was my loud, old-school hippie Hebamme/midwife casually poking needles into my legs (it doesn't hurt!) along with a gaggle of other pregnant women sitting in her bright office and chatting for 20 minutes. The purpose of this is to strengthen the body for childbirth and soften the cervix. Well, it was fun, and if it helps, so much the better.

I'm tired just reading about your activities. You sound like you're sold on the acupuncture. Hey, whatever it takes!

Hiya Grandmommies!

All the big running around stuff is now pretty much out of the way, so I'm just finishing up the sewing, etc. on our comfy couch. Although the place does get nasty if I don't mop once a week-- Mom, when are you coming again? HAHAHAHA!

Nothing like a mother coming to visit when you need her most!
Hope to see some Mary Ellen postings on the blog page!
