Substitution News

More Switzerland!

I had a deeelicious dinner in Switzerland that consisted of Rotkohl (red cabbage sort of pickled and cooked), Glazed Chestnuts (chestnuts again!), and Mashed Potatoes. I wanted to make the same thing for Jeremy in order to spread the culinary delight around, but I ended up making Sauerkraut, Purple Mashed Potaotes (yay Greenmarket! Ummm, except that you shouldn't mash them...too waxy), and Swiss Dried/Cured Meat (those chestnuts are always letting me down). I wanted to take a picture, but Jeremy didn't want to scare you.

Sorry, this has been a slow news weekend in the Edgar/Lynch household.

Oh, and I am now hopelessly addicted to the election coverage.

The two of you have always been adventurous eaters. I'm trying to imagine this meal if Jer says that a picture would scare us.

How can you not follow the election coverage? It's everywhere - Daily Show, SNL, Cnn...

Dear Mom and Steeler Mom,
The election stuff is almost over, so I feel it is best to just give in to the unbearable (even if you live in Europe) pull of the Ritual Theater which is our Election System. And this year the theatrical element is unbelievably high!

Thanks for the birthday greetings!
The show in Switzerland is not over yet, I just came back for a long weekend after the first round of rehearsals-- performances are in the middle and the end of November.

My project for the show in Cologne in February is moving along. We are writing the applications to receive money from various organizations right now, and that is taking FOREVER.
