That's right, folks, it's been 90 degrees here the past few days. Luckily, this apartment stays pretty cool-- but unluckily, that makes it very difficult to go outside. The heat is breaking with thunderstorms as I write, so don't cry for me (but maybe you should cry for Argentina because Germany just scored on them in the first minute).
Jer and Liam and I made a break for it yesterday to do some shopping in an air-conditioned dept. store. The world cup mania is so prevalent here that the electronics section was full of people standing around and watching the game (including most of the employees)-- for Holland vs. Brazil! If you walk down the street at game time, you can catch a lot of the game just by glancing in the direction of the giant TVs blaring that hideous buzzing (I'm warming up to soccer because they can do crazy things with their bodies, plus all of the falling down, but the buzzing is driving me mad) from every outdoor cafe and restaurant.
Liam is now adding spitting up to his eat/sleep/poop/look cute repertoire. Cheesy!
I'm finding nursing in public to be rather easy. Perhaps it helps that dance is a historically immodest profession or that I refuse to be cooped up in the apt. just because certain hungry hippos want to drink every hour (it's HOT!).

Love the video! We want more!! Who was standing on the side? Liam couldn't take his eyes off him/her.
He's getting so big already.
He is so bright eyed! Very interested in the mystery parent! I do feel sorry for him- first he was a monkey, and now he is a hippo! What next?
It is warm here today too- too hot to garden, bored in the house- maybe i should go to the mall!Need to steal a picture for the welcome center!
so cute! healthy happy hippo is more like it!
Man that's a cute kid!
Well, YOU should know that while Americans aren't as jazzed about the World Cup as those Euros are there's a fever sweeping the nation over here, the air crackles with the electricity of it, and when you step outside the buzzing is always there, the shouts and chanting of adoring fans everywhere: "WE WANT LIAM! WE WANT LIAM!" You better do something about this.
@ Steph-- hee hee. You know, I hear tell there is a cute little boy in Georgia, too. I also hear that he is very photogenic and that his Mom writes funny stuff.
@Kathy-- we'll have to email you a picture. Also, I think he may go through the whole animal kingdom in the first year.
I watched the video again, and Liam is brimming with pure Papa love. I was holding the camera, but Jeremy was standing off to the side.
